What is a computer virus?

Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation.

A virus might corrupt or delete data on your computer, use your email program to spread itself to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk.

Computer viruses are often spread by attachments in email messages or instant messaging messages. That is why it is essential that you never open email attachments unless you know who it’s from and you are expecting it.

Viruses can be disguised as attachments of funny images, greeting cards, or audio and video files.

Chromebook …what is this?

Many people have heard of a device called the Chromebook and are not sure what exactly this is.   Is it a laptop or notebook or something else?  The Chromebook is an Internet-dependent laptop meaning there’s very little you can do  without Internet access.  It’s basically a browser operating system using the chrome browser instead of internet explorer or firefox.  Everything  is composed of Web apps (email, photos, documents), or apps that run while you’re connected to a network.  I’d compare the Chromebook to tablet or ipad using it for internet browsing and email.   For more detailed information on the Chromebook:
